NIGEL HENDERSON. STRESSED PHOTOGRAPH c1950

Nigel Henderson stressed photographs by distorting them during enlarging and also by folding the photograhic paper during printing to show the feeling of rolling around, doodling, on a bike. Associated with the Independent Group and worked very closely with Alison and Peter Smithson (Robin Hood Gardens). Exhibited 'Patio & Pavillion' with the Smithsons and Eduardo Paolozzi in 'This is Tomorrow', Whitechapel Art Gallery 1956. Organised 'Parallel of Life and Art' at the ICA in 1953 with Paolozzi and the Smithsons.
