A hand tinted film, each frame being individually painted making the colour wonderfuly fugitive and independent of the object. The sets are also theatrically very inventive. Pathé Frères experimented in, amongst many other things, hand coloured film and synching projected films to gramaphone records. In 1902 they acquired the Lumière Brothers patents from which they made their own studio cameras and film stock.
