HORIZON (FIVE POUNDS AND A BELGIAN)

Film installation by John Smith of the Thames estuary.

At Museum of London, Docklands until Sunday 27th October. That is, in two days time.

Beautiful film of the intense richness, variety and atmospheric wonder of the estuary waters and skies (and many more things) using the horizon line as datum. A masterclass in film and in sound. And then also in editing.

DAGENHAM

Oil painting by Jock McFadyen.

At Museum of London Docklands until Sunday 27th October.

One of two panoramic paintings of the estuary by Jock McFadyen at the exhibition. He and John Smith have used the horizon as the fulcrum with which to emphasise the vast land, sea and sky scapes around which a strange estuarine beauty can be found.
