HYPER - REALITY: A NEW VISION OF THE FUTURE

Keiichi Matsuda. Ex Unit 15

This is Kei's very elegant film for his Kickstarter crowdfunding punt. The film comprises, a damn fine idea very well thought through, a locked off camera, digital overlays, balanced sound, a very disciplined script and so much thought and work. And ambition. It worked spectacularly, Kei is now making his film and the Kickstarter is being kept open to expand the film. Kei also won Kickstarter pitch of the week, not least for shooting in one take.

'Everything is becoming science fiction. From the margins of an almost invisible literature has sprung the intact reality of the 20th century.'
J.G. Ballard

"It will be an ambitious new vision of the future; instead of jetpacks, flying cars and robots, think smart cities, super-social media, and ubiquitous augmented reality. It will be a science fiction short for our time; introspective, critical, and beautifully designed."
Keiichi Matsuda

Kei's life changed when his 5th year film test on his student blog went viral getting around a million hits in a couple of months. Microsoft flew him to the US to talk at an AR conference whilst still a student. The finished film "Augmented (hyper) Reality: Domestic Robocop" has now had nearly two million hits and is still being used to generate funding for new projects including this one. The film he made for his next project 'Augmented City 3D' is now in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He also installed an enormous real time data projection in the V&A during London Design Festival 2012.
